Another Felting Adventure

I found a free pattern on LionBrand.com that I wanted to give a whirl. It's called the Around Town Felted Bag . Once figured out how to pick up stitches along the base to create the actual bag (*&$%@#) it was smooth sailing.

This is what it looked like, all knit up and ready for felting:

I basted the opening closed, hoping that would prevent the purse from getting all wonky during the agitation, but my stitches came out in the washer. It managed to felt nicely anyway.

Then I put it in outside to dry. It helps to have a nice kitty like Pearl standing guard, watching out for purse snatchers.

I'm happy with it so far, but still need to do something about the handles. Cutting it, like the directions tell me to, makes me a little worried, but I guess that's what I'll do next. I'm considering lining it too.

I have a handle that I'll never use that I purchased from JoAnne's. Want to give that a try? It might look snappy.

That's really cute! Make sure you post the completed purse with lining and handles... :)

And I love your little purse watcher!
